KNARIK ARSHAKUNI

The Centered Orb is a large cycle of songs, divided in several Enneads (sets of 9 songs each), started in 2016 by armenian composer Knarik Arshakuni. She uses broken instruments played by non professional musicians, following a notation system designed through allegorical drawings. This is the first album of hers produced by Izenzon von Ertegun, and it was recorded in a ruined studio in Armavir. Filmmaker Franz Akuva had included some of these recordings in Amundsen's Dogs and Winter Campaigns' soundtracks. Akuva said about Arshakuni's work: in that music is hidden the cartography of an upcoming world.
